Cafeteria Bill of Rights

All who enter the cafeteria have the right to be safe, respected and responsible.

I have the right to be safe.

  • This means hands, feet and objects are kept to myself.

  • It means I will walk in the cafeteria.

  • It means I will enter and exit the cafeteria correctly.

  • It means I will follow adult directions.

  • It means I will stay in my seat unless I have permission to move.

  • It means I have the right to eat my own lunch and not share.

I have the right to be respected and will respect others.

  • This means I will be cooperative.

  • It means I will use quiet voices (inside voices) to talk to my neighbors at my table.

  • It means I will respond immediately to quiet signals.

  • It means I will stand in line quietly, keeping my hands and feet to myself.

  • It means I will follow adult directions.

  • It means I will use good manners.

I have the right to be responsible.

  • This means I will clean the table and the floor (under and around table and around compactor) after use so that the cafeteria looks nice.

  • It means I will carry my lunch carefully, trying not to spill.

  • It means I will dispose of food and trash correctly and neatly.

  • It means I will push in my chair when I leave the cafeteria.

  • It means I will use good manners.
