Welcome to Ring Factory Elementary!

2009-2010

Ring Factory Elementary School is an inviting place where staff, students, and parents support, respect, and care for each other.  The school's walls have housed some of the best and brightest students in Harford County and the school is continuing its fine tradition of academic excellence.  RFES has a comfortable family atomosphere, involved parents, and a very active PTA.  The school is nestled just below Downtown Bel Air, Maryland.  It is surrounded by 34 acres of beautiful greenery and gentle wetlands.

Educators at RFES are busy preparing students for the future.  They utilize a curriculum that's rigorous, researched-based, interactive, and strategically designed to give students the skills that they need to succeed in middle school and beyond.  Students are given learning opportunities that challenge them to use multiple strategies, tools and technology, as well as real-life experiences.  Students work together in small groups to strategize and communicate their learning.

Ring Factory Elementary School offers a variety of extra curricular activities including:  Student Council; the Patriot Program; Character Counts; Destination Imagination; the Fox Festival Choir; Steel Drums; Safety Patrols; After-School Enrichment Clubs; School Spirit Days; Jump Rope for Heart; Geography Bee; Academic Fitness Awards; Junior Achievement; and Good News Assemblies.

Our educators believe that learning is a continuous process.  With exemplary teaching and learning, we can expect continued progress and success from all of our students.  Continuous improvement is expected in reading and mathematics, student attendance, and character education.  Our restructured Gifted & Talented program provides differentiation for those students that are able to work above the required curriculum.  Chorus and instrumental music lessons are available to all students in fourth and fifth grades.  Support is also available for students that speak languages other than English.

The mission at RFES is "to provide opportunities to empower our students to become life-long learners and responsible citizens" and we are actively working to this end.
